Referendum Overview

On March 10, 2026, Mahwah voters approved Question 1 of the Mahwah Public Schools bond referendum, authorizing the District to move forward with significant facility improvements across our schools.

The approved projects will address critical infrastructure and building needs throughout the District, including roofing, HVAC and boiler replacements, building controls, paving, windows, flooring, and other facility and efficiency improvements. These investments will help protect and modernize our school facilities while providing safe, efficient, and reliable learning environments for our students and staff..

The Mahwah Township Board of Education and District Administration thank every community member who participated in the referendum process and cast a ballot. In keeping with the District’s continued commitment to transparency, information and updates regarding work associated with the approved referendum will be communicated through this website. As the District moves forward with planning, design, bidding, and implementation of the authorized projects, this site will serve as a resource for the community to stay informed about the progress of the work.

Referendum projects will take place over multiple years, and the District will continue to provide updates to the community as work progresses.
