Congratulations to Mahwah Township Public Schools’ hardworking teachers and educational services professionals who were recognized recently as Governor’s Educator of the Year recipients.
The Bergen County Educators of the Year program honors exemplary educators who have made significant contributions to their students, schools and profession. The program acknowledges excellence, creates a sense of pride and brings attention to the work of these individuals.
Mahwah’s 2025 recipients are:
- Marcy Pestreich – first grade teacher at Betsy Ross School, 24 years of service
- Nancy Mertz – certified school nurse at George Washington School, 24 years of service
- Kristin Pacelli – third grade teacher at Lenape Meadows School, 29 years of service
- Brian Donovan – fifth grade special education teacher at Joyce Kilmer School for math and English language arts, 19 years of service
- Donna Conrad – special education teacher at Ramapo Ridge Middle School, 25 years of service
- Heather Tirino – business education teacher at Mahwah High School, 13 years of service
