Mahwah High School News
Our high school AP Government and Politics students successfully completed poll worker training, Friday September 20th, and are excited to be part of the democratic process on November 5th, as poll workers and voters, some voting for the first time. Additionally, the Young Politicians Club will be hosting a voter registration drive, in partnership with the League of Women Voters, for our high school students on Thursday October 10th during lunch for students who would like to register.
As we prepare our eligible high school students to be engaged in the 2024 election, we wish to also share this important information with you, so that you are aware of the upcoming registration deadlines and early voting dates.

What are key deadlines for the November 2024 election?
Registration deadlines
- In-person at local election office: October 15
- Online: October 15
- By mail (postmarked): October 15
Absentee Ballot deadlines
- Request ballot (received by): October 29
- Return ballot by mail (postmarked by): November 5 by 8:00 p.m. EST
- Return ballot in person: November 5 by 8:00 p.m. EST
Voting deadlines
- Early voting: October 26 – November 3
- In-person: November 5

Mahwah Public Library News
A new Dungeons & Dragons campaign is about to begin at the Mahwah Public Library! Join Dungeon Master Dan for this highly immersive gaming experience for Grades 6-8 (12:00pm-2:00pm) and Grades 9-12 (2:30pm-4:30pm), every other Saturday from October 5th-November 30th. Players of all experience levels are welcome to join! Dice and player journals will be provided for everyone, which you can keep at the end. English Language for Adults
In partnership with the Mahwah Public Schools, the Library is offering an English Language Learners (ELL) program for adults at beginner and intermediate levels. No matter your native language or cultural background, we welcome you to join us if you’re interested in improving your English.
This eight-week program runs every Monday from 9/30 through 11/25. Beginner sessions start at 10am, and intermediate sessions start at 11am. In addition to language practice, topics such as civic engagement, preparing for work, resources available to residents, and more will be covered!
Registration is encouraged, but drop-ins are also welcome provided space is available.
