While the summer months provide a great opportunity for children to rest, spend time with their families, and explore new endeavors, many children also experience a summer lapse in their academic skills. The Mahwah School District is offering a free, academic summer program for students who would benefit from additional practice of skills learned in the prior school year. If your child is eligible for this program you will receive an email from your child’s school.
We strongly encourage you to complete the online enrollment process for your child by Friday, March 9, 2018.
Based upon individual needs, students will be placed in small groups for instruction in mathematics and/or language arts. Computer practice of mathematics and language arts skills will be infused into each student’s program.
Classes begin on Tuesday, June 26 and will be conducted at Joyce Kilmer School from 8:00 a.m.–10:00 a.m. every weekday morning. Summer School ends on Friday, July 20.
Please note that if you register your child for Summer School, he or she will be expected to attend classes for the full four weeks (no school July 4).
After the school day ends at 10:00 a.m., you may wish to enroll your child in the Mahwah’s Summer Recreation program. (Please contact the Mahwah Rec Program for Summer Rec information.)
