  • Chronic Absenteeism

Chronic Absenteeism is defined by the state as not being present for 10% or more of possible school days. The state exempts some absences from the Chronic Absenteeism threshold such as a religious holiday, Take your Child to Work Day, participation in observance of Veterans Day or district board of election membership activities, and the closure of a busing district that prevents a student from having transportation to the receiving school.

Absences resulting from out-of-school suspension, field trips, and approved Home Instruction do not count towards the threshold.  In addition to supporting student learning, student attendance supports our school’s rank/grade!  Please continue to work with us and continue to prioritize school attendance.  School attendance is truly a home-school partnership.

  • Graduation Requirements

Students' education at Ramapo Ridge Middle School is part of a comprehensive learning journey.  Academic progress and performance in grades 6-8 feeds directly into opportunities and fulfillment of requirements in grades 9-12.  Review the high school graduation requirements and think ahead!

The New Jersey Department of Education made changes to the high school graduation requirements, including participation in NJSLA (formerly PARCC) assessments for students in the Class of 2020 and Class of 2021.  The following letters clarify the changes:  Letter Class 2020;  Letter Class of 2021 and thereafter

IMPORTANT: June 2019 UPDATE;  Please contact your child's school counselor with any questions.
