Mahwah Township Public Schools Thunderbird Times recognized for excellence in storytelling and community connection
Mahwah Township Public Schools was named a winner in the New Jersey School Public Relations Association (NJSPRA) 2025 School Communication Award Program. The district received an Award of Excellence - Best in Class in the Newsletter category, earning a perfect score which was a first for an award within this category.

Our new 5-year Strategic Plan, titled The Flight of the Thunderbird, which was a collective effort with our community, will be fully rolled out at the start of the school year. Our short and long-term focus continues to be on ensuring high-level curriculum & instruction, strengthening community connections, maintaining & enhancing our facilities, and continuing to support both social & emotional well-being of all our students.

To celebrate National Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) Day, students at Joyce Kilmer School participated in numerous hands-on, heart-centered activities designed to foster community, self-awareness and mental well-being.
